Poverty Alleviation Lenders for Low Interest-rate Finance for Education (PALs for LIFE)

At the heart of LIFEorg's mission is the Poverty Alleviation Lenders for Low Interest-rate Finance for Education (PALs for LIFE) program. This initiative aims to make education accessible to all by providing affordable, low-interest, income-contingent loans globally. By removing financial barriers to education, PALs for LIFE empowers individuals to gain skills, secure employment, and break the cycle of poverty.

Hearth Spaces

Hearth is a for-profit venture that builds community spaces dedicated to providing fresh meals and comfortable rest spaces. A key feature is that if residents don't have money to pay the fees they can use low-interest income-contingent loans to pay for as many meals and days of accommodation as they need/want. This means that anyone can afford to stay at a Hearth space and this has a meaningful impact on addressing housing and nutrition issues.

Research

LIFEorg conducts rigorous research to develop evidence-based solutions for poverty alleviation.

Current Project

A comprehensive thesis outlining the PALs for LIFE model and the associated Poverty Alleviation Lenders (PALs) legislation, that makes it possible.

Advocacy

LIFEorg advocates for the implementation of the Poverty Alleviation Lenders (PALs) legislation and the development of Hearth Spaces.

Implementation

Building on our research insights, LIFEorg will move from analysis to action by employing dedicated specialists who will work with existing organisations, ministries of education, tax agencies, universities, NGOs, and financial institutions, to implement the Poverty Alleviation Lenders (PALs) legislation.

This will also provide the means by which to develop the Hearth Spaces project.

LIFEorg envisions a world where poverty is a thing of the past. Through the LIFE loans program, strategic research, global advocacy, and innovative not-for-profit and for-profit initiatives, we are building a sustainable framework to ensure that every individual has the opportunity to thrive.
